An Endeavor to Translate
One summer my longtime friend and client, Katherine, came to me with ideas for a creative rebrand that would support the evolution of her personal journey as she continued to show up online.
She needed a visual translation of her story, of its depth and beauty, and these images would need to inspire curiosity and action from viewers.
We met virtually multiple times to discuss the themes she wanted to capture; a total of 12 archetypes were workshopped! When we nailed down the essence and details of each concept, I compiled the notes and multiple mood boards into a single document for easy reference.
The biggest difference these shoots would hold for me was purposely not creating/using a shot list. I knew the elements and features we wanted to capture, but the sessions themselves were open to inspiration and flow in a way I’d not previously approached brand photography with before. The results felt more authentic and emotive to me, and for Katherine. She was able to ‘see’ herself in her brand photos again and post with confidence and consistency to how she was now living and working.
From this experience, I developed a love letter of brand photography possibilities: the Endeavor. It is more than a photo session; it’s a creative journey we embark on together — an endeavor to capture the heart and soul of your story through authentic imagery and video in nothing short of epic locations.
